Snippets From 6 Minutes to Success – Paradigms
The next few blog posts are going to be a sequence of content taken directly from the Proctor Gallagher Institute’s 6 Minutes To Success program. This week’s post concerns the topic of Paradigms.

I have discussed Paradigms previously, but as it is such a poignant concept that underpins all of Bob Proctor’s teachings and my understanding, it seemed a fitting topic to start this sequence with.
Enjoy!
The following sections are transcribed from the actual 6-minute lessons given by Bob Proctor. These lessons and many more are included in the program 6 Minutes To Success which gives you a new short video every day to listen to that will help get you thinking and changing your life. Check the program out today!
6 Minutes to Success #13 – Paradigm
Check out this concept in this 1 minute reel on YouTube.
“I’m gonna share a word with you.
You may have heard the word before. Odds are pretty good that you may not really understand it, and then again, you may have never heard it. And if you don’t understand it, don’t feel bad because the person next door probably doesn’t understand it either.
The word is PARADIGM.
Now you could go into psychology, books on psychology, books on behavioural science. That’s what I did when I first heard it. And you know, I quickly came to the realisation I was never going to understand what a paradigm was because they had definitions for a paradigm that only other psychologists or behavioural scientists would understand.
Here I am the layperson. I’m just an ordinary guy out there wants to make it happen and make it happen a lot faster in a big way. And I seem to have in innate awareness. The paradigm was a very important part of that.
What Is A Paradigm?
A Paradigm is a multitude of habits. That are fixed in your subjective mind. That are controlling your behaviour.

Why do obviously brilliant people do such dumb things? Why do people spend years in school, get possibly doctorates degrees in subjects, and end up doing dumb jobs earning no money? Well, I’m gonna tell you. That puzzles a lot of people.
It puzzled me for years.
I remember I was in England. And I took my income to over $1,000,000. I only had two months high school and I had no business experience. I had created companies in seven cities in three countries and I’m sitting down, and I am shocked with the results I’m getting. And I’m trying to understand how did this happen. It took me 9 years to figure it out. And I was looking for the answer! I was studying with some of the most brilliant people in the world, because if there was anyone, anywhere teaching anything on the mind I didn’t care what it cost or how far I had to travel, I would learn it.
And I found that you and I are programmed. We are programmed genetically, at the moment of conception. All mums DNA is in that little particle of energy that she contributes. All dads DNA is in that little part he contributes. And they swim along and poof! They get married and that forms the nucleus of you. And then 280 days later, after 280 days of interacting energy, you made your appearance on this planet, your great debut on planet Earth. And you are sitting there with your subconscious mind wide open. Conscious faculties have not developed, and you are taking in everything that goes on around you.
How Is A Paradigm Formed?
How do you account for a little child before they even go to school becoming fluent in four or five languages? When where I grew up, if a child learned one they were doing pretty good! How do you account for that?
It’s called a paradigm.
It’s called programming.
You are the product of your environment.
Now think, the paradigm is formed by being programmed in our subconscious mind, in our little life. And then off we go to school. Now school has a curriculum, a programme, and they give you intellectual knowledge. They give you books and you study them and if you got the answers to the questions they asked, you will get a degree.
They taught nothing about the paradigm. Nothing about the programming. And so you go out into the world well equipped intellectually to do wonderful things, but you never do them!
You see, the part of your mind that gathers all the information in school, is not the part of the mind that controls the behaviour. This could be the most valuable 6 minutes you’ve ever watched. Because when you really start to understand what paradigms are, your life will change.
Change The Paradigm, Change Your Life!
You see, what I did over that 9-year period, when I went from struggling to win to winning with ease, I changed my paradigm. I changed all those habits. And I didn’t know what I had done. It took me nine years to figure it out.
Paradigm. Write it down. P-A-R-A-D-I-G-M. Paradigm.
Study it. It’s a multitude of habits. That are programmed into your subconscious mind. That control your behaviour. And if you try and override that paradigm, you hit a terror barrier and you back away because it scares the living daylights out of you. You stay where you’re comfortable. The paradigm controls the vibration. Even if you don’t like it, you’re comfortable there.
The paradigm is controlling you, change the paradigm, you change your life.
That’s what the Proctor Gallagher Institute is all about. It’s about changing paradigms and then you get results that stick.”
6 Minutes to Success #147 – Paradigms
See these next two lessons in a 1 min reel here:
“Hello there and welcome to another 6 minutes to success.
Today I am going to talk to you for a minute about Paradigms. Do you know what a paradigm is? It’s a pattern of ideas or of habits that are fixed in our subconscious mind. That’s really what it is.
If you watch another individual, you’re going to see that they move in a pattern while doing certain things. Watch somebody that you live with when they first get up in the morning. There’s a routine, and you don’t wanna mess with that routine. See, it’s a paradigm that they’re following to accomplish whatever they’re doing. They tend to stick to this paradigm. Patterns of actions to achieve various familiar goals. If you try and change their paradigms there could be trouble in River City.
What are Paradigms Again?
Paradigms are a set of habits that are programmed into your subconscious mind. It’s almost like a psychic thermostat that controls the temperature of our life. Most people live in their own constrained little boxes. They live their lives without ever going outside, or in many cases even looking outside.
In Joel Barker’s book on paradigms, he said, “To ignore the power of paradigms to influence your judgement is to put yourself at risk when exploring the future.”
Now, I would imagine, that from time to time you do contemplate the future.
Where are you going to go?
What are you going to do?
What are you going to do with the rest of your life?
Those are good thoughts!
As a matter of fact, for the next four or five minutes, I want you to think about them.
What am I going to accomplish this year?
That’s a good thought for you. Ask yourself this, if I change one habit, what would it do for my productivity? If you change two, your productivity could skyrocket!
So, I want you to sit down and take a look at what you do when you first get up in the morning. How could you become more productive by changing just one or two habits?
I guarantee you that if you do this, your whole life will change. You give it a whirl. Spent 4-5 minutes doing this and then act on it.
Get out-of-the-box.
Begin to live.
Live the life you were really designed to live.
This is Bob Proctor. Thank you.”
6 Minutes to Success #148 – More On Paradigms
“Hello there and welcome back to six minutes to success.
I wanna talk a little more about paradigms.
I’m going to ask you to pay particular attention to this scenario.
I want you to picture a group of people, build this with your imagination. They are trying to get out of a box of their boring daily routines. You know, they are held captive by their limiting paradigms.
Paradigms are patterns of doing and understanding things. There are good paradigms that work, and of course there’s bad paradigms that don’t work.
Ask yourself, what is preventing most people from living their dreams? You see, you and I face a huge challenge in life that costs us both time and money. And that is overcoming our limiting paradigms.
Paradigms In The Social Context
Paradigms in the social context are something that are groups of habits and beliefs. They are acquired both genetically and environmentally. Bad habits can mask opportunities or just not work as well as we need for success. We must learn to control our internal paradigms. To rid ourselves of bad habits and adopt new and useful ones.

The Wright brothers were successful because through innovation, and perseverance, they were able to develop new paradigms that worked. Meanwhile, their competitor, Professor Langley, with greater resources, failed because his paradigms for powered flight were inadequate.
Thomas Edison and his team were masters at creating new, useful paradigms. Electric lights versus the gas and oil lamps, and candles. Edison was internationally famous and highly respected in his own time because of his hundreds of inventions and improvements. Ed Hillary, on the other hand, used a very simple traditional paradigm. Dress warmly and put one foot in front of the other until you complete the climb or die. He happened to survive, while others hadn’t.
Some of Edison’s neighbours may have thought that his projects were far out, but today’s neighbours are just as clueless, and today’s projects are vastly further out. Superhuman, artificial intelligence, immortality, contacting alien intelligence, et cetera. These are the new paradigms.
What Do Paradigms Impact?
Paradigms shape our logic and our perception of the world around us. Paradigms control our use of time, but everybody gets the same amount of time. You can’t buy time, you can only optimise your use of it.
Think about that for a while. Your paradigm controls your effectiveness. All of these habits that are programmed into our subconscious mind are controlling our habits and our productivity.
Last but not least, I ask every person, who comes to work with our company; “What’s the most you’ve ever earned in a year?” I don’t really care what the answer is, but their answer tells me where their paradigm is. You see, paradigms control our income. If you’re trying desperately to improve your income and you’re not changing your paradigm, you’re kidding yourself. It isn’t going to happen.
I think you should spend quite a bit of time studying paradigms because they do control your life.
Change your paradigm, change your life.
This is Bob Proctor. Thank you.”
What Do You Think?
These lessons are designed to be short sharp snippets to encourage you to think more critically about you and your life. This concept goes a lot deeper than Bob could put into these lessons, even two or three of them, but it is the concept that underpins all of his seminars, programmes and teachings. It is worth spending the time learning, understanding and implementing it. Paradigms!
If any of this resonates with you then please share your thoughts below. If you want to discuss it further then get in touch today. Either here or through any of my social medias or schedule a call to discuss it with me directly.
My purpose is to get people out of their own way and find the life they want to live. To get in touch with the person they want to be.
I look forward to hearing from you!
To your success.
