You can listen to this blog as a Podcast HERE. Though it is read by an AI… And has a few little errors in it as this sequence is a repost after the originals were lost in a website move… I have updated the written bits a little, the Podcast I can’t work out how to change without deleting and reposting on YouTube!

Let’s dive into today’s topic!
Creating a Habits Plan: Your Roadmap to Success
Creating a habits plan is a powerful tool for personal growth and achieving long-term success. It provides a structured framework to guide people in developing positive habits and making lasting changes in their lives.
In this blog, we will explore the process of creating a personalised habit plan, provide templates and worksheets for planning, and emphasise the importance of setting SMART goals.
Creating a Personalised Habits Plan
Creating a personalised habits plan begins with self-reflection and identifying areas for improvement. You should take the time to assess your current habits, determine your desired outcomes, and understand the underlying motivations behind your goals. By gaining clarity on what you want to achieve and why, people can create a habit plan that aligns with your values and aspirations.
Next, you should break down your goals into smaller, actionable steps. This helps to make the process more manageable and increases the likelihood of success. By setting specific milestones along the way, you can track you progress and stay motivated.
Templates and Worksheets for Planning
To assist you in creating your habits plan, templates and worksheets can be immensely helpful. These resources can include sections for goal setting, action steps, progress tracking, and reflection. Templates and worksheets provide a structured format for you to organise your thoughts, set priorities, and monitor your progress. They serve as a visual reminder of your commitment and provide a sense of accountability.
I created an approach called Planituding to help with becoming aware of your habits and then making changes to them. Planituding is a daily habit of Planning, Gratitude and Intentions to help each day be the best it can be for you:
Planning:
Using the Get Done approach (fully explained in the approach!), each evening you write down what you want to get done the next day, then prioritise it. The next morning, you start with number 1 and ignore all the others until 1 is done. Then you move onto number 2 and ignore 1 and all the others. Etcetera. By planning tomorrow today, you start tomorrow enthused and ready to go. You become more productive and effective and are focused on the most important things first.
Gratitude:
Starting each day thinking about what you are grateful for sets you up for greatness. It puts you in touch with your positivity and opens up opportunities for the Universal Spirit to give you more of the same. You can be grateful for big wins from the previous day, small things such as seeing in colour, even things you haven’t got yet. If you can’t be grateful for what you have already, what makes you think you will be grateful when you get the things you want?
Intention:
A written intention for the day, which can be as simple as ‘be present’, ‘one thing at a time’, or ‘smile at 5 strangers’. It is your intention for the day to keep you on track with whatever it is you have to do that day. Whether it be to stay focused on something rather than daydreaming. Or to take it slower, or to avoid distractions. Or to simply relax! Whatever you feel will serve you that day.

Setting SMART Goals
Setting SMART goals is an essential part of any habit plan because it helps you create a clear roadmap towards achieving your objectives. Let’s break down each component of SMART goals to understand their significance.
Specific
Firstly, goals should be Specific. This means they should be well-defined and focused. By clearly stating what needs to be accomplished, you can avoid ambiguity and stay on track.
Measurable
Secondly, goals should be Measurable. This allows you to track your progress and determine whether you are moving in the right direction. Measurable goals provide a sense of accomplishment as milestones are reached, motivating you to continue your efforts.
Achievable
Thirdly, goals should be Achievable. It’s important to set realistic goals that are within one’s capabilities. By setting achievable goals, you can maintain a positive mindset and avoid feeling overwhelmed or discouraged. But what counts as achievable? Remember that anything you can see yourself doing in your imagination, you can do in the real world – no matter how crazy it might sound due to the amount of money, time or skills that will be required but that you may not have at this time!
Relevant
Next, goals should be Relevant. This means they should align with the overall objectives and aspirations you have for your life. By ensuring that goals are relevant, you can stay focused on what truly matters to you and avoid wasting time and energy on irrelevant pursuits.
Time-Bound
Lastly, goals should be Time-bound. This involves setting a specific deadline or timeframe for achieving the goal. Time-bound goals create a sense of urgency and help you prioritise your actions. Having a deadline also allows for better planning and allocation of resources.
By incorporating all these elements into goal setting, you can create a powerful framework that increases the likelihood of success. SMART goals provide clarity, motivation, and direction, making it easier to stay committed to the habit plan and achieve your desired outcomes.
